Bholu the bear loved food more than anything else in the world. Mangoes, honey, roasted peanuts, jackfruit jam—he loved it all.
One sunny morning, he had a brilliant idea.
“I’ll plan the biggest forest picnic ever!” he announced, dancing with joy.
He spent the whole week making a list. He invited everyone—frogs, foxes, parrots, deer, turtles, and even grumpy old porcupine Dadaji.
“I’ll bring the honey cake!” shouted Coco the crow.
“I’ll make fruit juice,” said Lali the rabbit.
Everyone was excited. They chose a big open ground near the riverside for the picnic. Bholu made little name tags, packed plates made of leaves, and even drew funny faces on each fruit basket.
Finally, the big day arrived.
Animals came in groups, dressed in flowers and feathers. The picnic spot buzzed with laughter and smells of yummy food.
But just as they were about to settle down, thick clouds covered the sky.
Thunder growled.
And then… Pitter-patter SPLASH!
It started to rain—heavily.
“Oh no!” cried Lali. “The juice is spilling!”
“The nuts are floating away!” shouted Kaka the crow.
Bholu stood in the middle, completely still. Everything he had planned was washing away.
He sat down under a tree, his fur soaked, and let out a big sigh.
“I just wanted everyone to be happy…”
Just then, Mimi the mouse pulled his paw gently.
“Bholu, we’re still happy. We can’t stop the rain, but we can change our plan!”
The animals quickly carried the food to the nearby cave.
They wiped the wet fruits, fixed the leaf plates, and made space for everyone inside.
Someone lit fireflies in a jar for light. The frogs sang songs. Lali told jokes. And Bholu? He finally smiled.
He stood up, passed around jackfruit chips, and said, “Rain or shine, the picnic is on!”
That rainy day became the most special memory in the forest. Not because the plan was perfect—but because the animals stayed together through the mess.
Later that night, as the rain stopped and stars peeked out, Bholu said quietly, “The best moments aren’t planned. They just happen—with the right friends.”
🌟 Moral of the Story:
Plans may fail, but togetherness makes everything better.
